It's Military Appreciation Month and we are giving back to the pets we love. You are invited to a Volunteer Day at Warrior Canine Connections (WCC).
Volunteers from Marine Officers' Spouses' Club of Washington will be assisting WCC with weeding and mulching two landscaped drainage beds around the WCC campus. Volunteers will also participate in a 1-hour Mission Based Trauma Recovery (MBTR) Information Session that will include hands-on training with our service dogs in training, to illustrate how our programming is designed and the impact it can have.
All necessary supplies for this project will be procured by WCC’s Director of Facilities, Kim Vaughan, and will be onsite prior to arrival. Please bring a pair of work gloves/gardening gloves with you. WCC is a working farm.
Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Sunscreen and bug spray are highly recommended. WCC requires all on-site volunteers to have a completed WCC Volunteer Agreement and Liability Waiver on file.
Arrive at time of event. Lunch break at 12:30. WCC is willing to share lunch options that deliver to the site.
