What is a MOSCDC Sub Club?

MOSCDC Sub Clubs are member-led groups that bring together members with shared interests. Whether it’s a book club, happy hour group, lunch outings, hiking, or another activity, sub clubs offer a fun way to connect and spend time with fellow members. MOSCDC helps promote these groups and collect contact information from interested members through our website.

Are there any MOSCDC Sub Clubs currently available for me to join?

Yes! MOSCDC currently offers several member-led Sub Clubs throughout the year:

    • Happiest of Hours – Led by Megan Link. Members meet each month at a different local spot to enjoy a fun social happy hour together.
    • Embassy Nights – Led by Teri McMahon. Members visit different embassies to learn about new cultures and experience a taste of their part of the world.
    • Midday Mingle – Led by Candice Curry. Members gather at different restaurants in the area to enjoy lunch and good company.
    • Let’s Go – Led by Teri McMahon. This group travels to interesting sites and destinations in and around the DC area, often featuring full-day adventures and unique experiences.

These sub clubs are a great way to connect with other members while exploring the DC area together.

ALL MOSCDC SUB CLUBS MUST ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

      • Initial marketing support will be provided through our MOSCDC Marketing and Social Media Chairs in coordination with MOSCDC Reservations and the Sub Club Leader.
      • Meeting registration for MOSCDC Sub Clubs must take place through our web site in order to maintain record of Sub Club involvement and ensure all requirements are being met.
      • As MOSCDC Sub Clubs are meant to be a "perk" for MOSCDC Members, sub club members must also be MOSCDC Members in order to join or participate (some events will allow guest for members)
      • Any financial transactions (online and check payments) required for MOSCDC Sub Club activities must be run through MOSCDC.org to ensure proper accounting/collection. Being a part of a MOSCDC Sub Club is included in the annual membership fee and should therefore be free. Exceptions include a fee for a specific sub club event e.g. museum visit, transportation, etc.
      • MOSCDC Sub Clubs are permitted to set up a separate Facebook group; however, it must be linked to the official MOSCDC Facebook Group and the MOSCDC Social Media Chair must be given admin rights within the sub club group to maintain official MOSCDC association and receive registration/marketing support.
      • MOSCDC Sub Clubs cannot be based solely on race, ethnicity, creed, religion, political leanings, sexual orientation, or gender. MOSCDC Sub Clubs must be based on common interests and/or social activities social only.
