  What: 2025 White House Holiday Tour! Join the Marine Officers' Spouses' Club of Washington, D.C. (MOSCDC) for this unique opportunity. 

  When: Saturday, December 6th at 8 a.m. * Note our first date is confirmed!

  Who: Current 2025 MOSCDC Members In Good Standing* 

  Annual Membership fee must be already paid in full to be considered "in good standing."

  Per MOSCDC policy, Members who cancel within 48 hours or do not attend may be charged a $15 "late cancellation/no-show" fee.

  Join MOSCDC for a fascinating visit to two remarkable historic homes located side-by-side in Alexandria, each with its own unique story. Pope-Leighey House: Designed in 1940 by world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Pope-Leighey House is a beautiful example of his Usonian vision—simple, affordable, modern homes created for the American middle class. Originally built in Falls Church, the home was saved from demolition during the construction of Highway 66 and relocated to the grounds of Woodlawn. Today it stands as a preserved architectural treasure, showcasing Wright’s signature style, innovative design, and attention to natural materials. Woodlawn Estate: Just steps away, you’ll explore Woodlawn, a property originally gifted by George Washington to his nephew and step-granddaughter. Completed in 1805 and designed by William Thornton—the first architect of the U.S. Capitol—Woodlawn has lived many lives. Once a plantation, it later transformed into a thriving community of Quakers, freedmen, immigrants, and abolitionists working together before and during the Civil War. Today the site continues to evolve, sharing a more complete, inclusive story of all who lived and worked here.

  Join MOSCDC at the Ukraine House for a special evening of culture and an opportunity to support the people of Ukraine. In addition, we will celebrate the upcoming Christmas and Chanukah season with a special Ukrainian touch.

  Ukraine is a thriving independent European powerhouse filled with a rich culture, incredible scenery, and exciting history.  While Ukraine is facing difficult times and is the center of every news outlet and charitable foundation, we still gather for an opportunity to celebrate its culture and the prosperous future of the country.

  Evening Highlights to Include:

  UKRAINIAN FOOD: Specially prepared Ukrainian buffet as designed by a native Ukrainian Chef. The menu will also include dishes revered in Ukraine during the holiday season.

  UKRAINIAN BEVERAGES: Enjoy a wide variety of wine, beer and other beverages.

  UKRAINIAN HOLIDAY MUSICAL PRESENTATION: Special Ukrainian musicians to present us with a unique cultural look into Ukrainian folklore songs and culture. Their costumed interpretations conjure up special images of the rich lands and vast cities of this Eastern European charm.

  UKRAINIAN ART: You will be awed by the numerous native Ukrainian authentic paintings and sculptures available for your study and viewing pleasure

  CHARITY: Net Proceeds from your admission cost will go to assist Ukrainian children and refugees who have been injured or displaced by the current war.  NOTE: This event will take at the Ukraine House (not the main embassy on M Street). Please make sure you attend at 2134 Kalorama Rd NW.
